This is a horror film that doesn't rely on cheap thrills or clichéd plotlines but instead gives away the direction of the narrative fairly early and utilizes audiences inability to act, as some kind of a stress induced psychological horror. It's influence can be felt on so many great films but none of which has been able to deliver a flawless product as this one. Midsommar is one such films that has a similar structure and narrative but couldn't get quite right when it comes to characters' actions or writing. I can't help but acknowledge Polanski's genius even though he's a terrible person. The man experimented on multiple genres and delivered some of cinema's finest, there's no doubt about that. His writing and the themes in his films are mostly common & seems to perfectly reflects his mentality & personality, especially the resolutions of these stories. Speaking of resolutions, I'm not fan of the resolution here but it's great because that too breaks the tropes. Another aspect that totally amazed me is the score, it is a used brilliant manner and only for special circumstances which made them very effective while the silence also added to the atmosphere.

<b><i>THIS</i></b> IS WHAT HAPPENS IN ROSEMARY'S BABY?!  This might be one of the craaaziest movies I've ever seen. The overwhelming feeling of paranoia snowballing into... SATAN BABY? Kind of obsessed, actually

&gt; "He has his father's eyes." This is a 60's horror film that feels more modern that I had to keep checking when it was made because I couldn't believe how good it looked. I also didn't know anything going in and was surprised by it's dark theme and some of the stuff they showed. Then I saw who made it and it made more sense. No jump scares, just good storytelling that gives you the creeps.
