The Odyssey

It's really good. I like how they depict the Greek gods and mythologies. For example, Hell, it's so unique and interesting. The sound work, damn. Glued to the screen, it's long but you just always feel like you want to see more, like you enjoy every minute. Storytelling really good. Odysseus so badass. I really like the moment where we see Odyssey's guilt, Athena, and People of the sea reveal. How the hell Calypso survive in that island, who the hell is Calypso. (Googled, TIL, I know little about Greek mythologies) Anne Hathaway so beautiful. Agamemnon scary menacing cool design outfit. Eumaeus the goat. Good, enjoyable watch.

Damn okay I guess. It's a lot. kinda hard to wrap my head around. I don't have the lens of the past, but I think I expected too much. Maybe at the time this was some kind of pivotal moment or stepping stone in the industry? Pardon my ignorance, I watched this blind and only know that this movie is entirely hand drawn which is insane even by today's standards. The fact that they also animated the mouth movement is crazy. I rate based on my enjoyment though and it's not that high, I might've missed plot details since I'm also learning japanese, but it is what it is.

There is no limit to the epicness and absurdity, Trigger at it again. You just sit back and have a good time. This is an accumulation of their previous works, a rewarding experience for those who enjoyed and have watched them. CHILLS!! The moment Galo pulls out the drill, became a giant and fire at the whole galaxy, oh lord. What is this? Gurren Lagann? Before watching this I jokingly thought "that is Kamina in the cover, there is going to be something about Gurren Lagann", here we are now. Matoi Tech? Professor Matoi from Killa la Kill? And they have a bunch of voice actors from Killa la Kill and Gurren Lagann, and Kamina voice actor actually voiced the supporting character lmao. Story wise it's similar to BNA. The story is always so simple, and frequent theme like fighting spirit, discrimination, villain disguised as the good guys. I can already tell who the villain is in the first few minutes. --- I thought Lio was a girl dawg.
