Awkwafina should stick to acting. That was horrendous.

[5/10] Eh. There’s a decent throughline here, of Sky wanting (and arguably needing) friends, only to find them in the most unexpected of places. I can appreciate the irony that her supposed friends are pieces of shit, while pieces of shit turn out to be her actual friends. Turning your protagonist into the Aquaman of poo has an absurd hook to it. And there’s some genuine wholesomeness between Sky and Areola at times that bears out. But this has a lot working against it. For one,this sort of cutesy anime style just doesn't jive with me. It’s an entirely subjective thing, but it creates a barrier for me straight away. Likewise, I often find Awkwafina to be a lot, and while she’s not awful here or anything, despite pulling double duty, sometimes I just don’t click with her style. Last but not least, “Superpowered anime girl befriends anthropomorphic turd” is the kind of bit that can probably support a two-minute *Robot Chicken* sketch at most, but the joke wears thin over a full ten-minute short. Overall, there’s a few nice moments here, and I like the mini-arc that Sky has over the course of the short, but the aesthetic and the trappings and style of comedy aren’t really my thing, especially with a one-note (brown note?) gag stretched out beyond what the joke can support.
