A multi-layered mystery that follows the decade's old noir approach but with a gritty new meaning. The plot doesn't seem to be exceptional at first glance but as we dive deep into the mystery, it becomes much more nuanced than what was expected of it earlier, as it is another one of those classic cases of ending makes it all better and gives it a deeper meaning. Jack Nicholson however with his hysterical actions and witty dialogue delivery keeps it entertaining right from the start. The visuals are stylish enough whereas the blocking is very exaggerated (atleast early in the film) which is another major aspect of the film that strikes out and retains the film fresh and intriguing for the most part.
