A must watch horror, one with potential of a cult following and spawning multiple bad sequels basing on the success. Not exactly the slow burn artistic type but well made nonetheless. Bad naming, both in terms of marketing and capturing intrigue. The trailer doesn't do it any justice either. But the film itself is not one bit bad at capturing the attention. Just on point right from the start, creating an immediate discomforting situation of having to share a room with a stranger and then building it into something unexpectedly sinister and truly a scary experience. With no cheap scares its an unsettling and extremely intense horror. Great camera work that triggers claustrophobic fears with pov shots and play with lights. Another great aspect of this film is the plot and the horror is not at all dragged out to fit the screen time, which is something new in these sorts of films and it successfully keeps us totally invested for the entire screen time. The overall theme and the uniquely ambiguous characters with questionable personalities also immensely adds to it's idea. Overall, it's a good horror film that breaks usual horror conventions while creating a few new.

fun movie I had a good time but a bit too jumpscary for my taste + some of these things will age badly SORRY still highly enjoyed it

Cant believe I hadn’t heard anything about this. Very well done and interesting film. Feels original. The characters are great. Loved just about everything about this eerie horror flick.

Was hoping to see Whirlwind and HotA but all I got was Bash and Cleave

Legalzinho. Achei que tinha GRANDE potencial, a primeira metade do filme foi de tirar o fôlego. A atmosfera de suspense e tensão estava incrível, e a dúvida em cima da índole do Keith também. O plot com a morte dele foi uma ótima jogada. Sobre o resto eu não posso elogiar tanto assim, existiu algumas analogias legais mas eu senti que não conseguiram passar a mensagem de forma legal. Fora que seria imensamente melhor se o filme acatasse um "show dont tell", entregar todo mistério em volta da casa e da Mãe de bandeija para os telespectadores foi extremamente broxante kk. No entanto foi divertido, por incrível que pareça algumas cenas me tiraram umas risadas kkk

The movie was good. However, there were some questions left unanswered. 1) What happened to all the women that he held down there? If he killed them and buried them there, wouldn’t there be quite a distinctive smell? I mean, we are talking about a lot of bodies not just one or two. 2) What happened to all the children he had with these women? 3) Was there any search for the missing people? If they were all from the same neighbourhood, there must’ve been quite a lot of noise. How come so many people go missing in the same place and no one does anything? 4) Once the owner of the house (AJ Gilbride) approached the rapist’s (Frank’s) room in the basement, the woman backed down. If she’s afraid of her father, who nursed him when his health deteriorated? He seemed to be in a bad shape. And where did they get food from? 5) What happened to all the previous tenants? 6) How exactly did AJ Gilbride get the house? And what happened to all the other houses? It basically looked like a ghost town.
