All hail Nag Ashwin, he has cooked!
This film must be watched, must be supported, must break records, and then Part 2 will literally go bonkers.
Kalki 2898 AD is an amalgamation of Star Wars, Dune, Mad Max, infused beautifully with our Indian history. The first half meticulously builds the world, essential for immersing the audience in its setting. This setup ends with a climactic moment that gives you goosebumps, leading directly into an action-packed second half. The latter part of the film excels in screenplay, action, and emotional depth.
Amitabh Bachchan's portrayal of Ashwatthama is magnetic, commanding the screen and overshadowing others with his presence. Without giving away any spoilers, Kamal Hassan delivers a phenomenal performance, with a character that is well-crafted.
The climax is so grand, visually appealing, high on action and emotions, that you'd climax along with it. Mahabharat scenes were epic, even though there were not so many. This film is on par with Hollywood in every filmmaking department, and even looks like one.
