Very strange direction to take the story in. So much separation between the characters that it felt almost as if the actors must have had too many conflicts to have scenes together. A nice little horror movie but a shitty addition to the <i>Insidious</i> franchise.

You might think that the fifth installment of a horror franchise that began a decade ago might have run its course a while back, but you’d be pleasantly mistaken. The Red Door is surprisingly emotional and more rooted in fathers, sons, and family than it is spooky, scary ghosts (though not for lack of jump scares, which are abundant). The younger leads really shine here (Ty Simpkins and especially Sinclair Daniel). There’s a great sense of franchise conclusion, but as we all know with the horror genre - is it ever REALLY over?

This is probably the weakest of the franchise. It was actually pretty tame in terms of suspense and jump scares. There was about 15 min towards the end that felt like an Insidious movie.
