the blumhouse effect: great movie fully tanked by a garbage ending which then ties into a fourth movie

Was really cool to see the union of the three paranormal investigators. This was also definitely the scariest movie, relying mostly on jump scares, albeit effective jump scares. My issue with this was that the characters were so bland. The main victim had no personality, so you’d think that the story would center on her father, who was barely a character at all. The movie relied way too much on the three characters from the original film. The villain also had no story. I loved the investigation from the previous film, which this film had none of. The villain felt as though there was no connection at all.

I kind of liked the backstory on Elise but overall it was typical of an Insidious movie.
