I was a bit underwhelmed at first and thought it was a bit too childish (but I know they're the audience) but as it went on, I appreciated it more. Some funny jokes and I like Jim Carrey.

kudos to Tyson Hesse and the team that redesigned Sonic - they did an amazing job, especially in the time frame and urgency in which the project had to be completed to get this movie out in theaters, after the backlash of the original trailer. James Marsden, also, did a great job - the man knows how to act alongside a CGI character and sold me on the interactions and friendship between Tom and Sonic. this is definitely not a perfect movie, but i enjoyed it and would love to see a sequel, especially after the mid-credit reveal of Miles "Tails" Prower 7/10 - Good

My friends and I saw the _Sonic the Hedgehog_ movie yesterday and we enjoyed it! I'm so glad the portrayal of Sonic was spot on, and that the delay to redesign the look of the character for the film was worthwhile. It was great seeing Jim Carrey back on the big screen and doing silly things. Though the pacing was zig-zaggy through the first half of the film, a few played-out jokes thrown in, but it amps up with some good action and fanfare later. Seeing Sonic go against Jim Carrey (Robotnik) was the best part! It's definitely a fun family-friendly film with a good message. I spotted a few hidden Easter Eggs and references including the classic emblem from the games, a Sega Saturn logo, and a little piano melody of the Green Hill Zone theme. Mid credits scene had me hopping out of my chair clapping and shouting the name of a familiar character and stoked for a possible sequel. :fox: For a video game adaptation, it's decent and worth seeing if you're a fan of SEGA/Sonic the Hedgehog or even enjoyed similar films like _Detective Pikachu_. Not gonna lie, watched it mostly for Jim Carrey and wasn't dissapointed. He did great, love his humor and his jokes make me laugh a lot. Especially the Latte one. I liked Tom and his Girlfriend - except that rather mediocre, pretty okay. Sonic was quite annoying to me but I was never the biggest fan anyway... the fact that Tom stayed in his village was stupid. Because two ppl helped him and he got shamed by sonic? Eh.

With all the negative feedback about the CGI last year (and rightfully so), they actually changed his design to a more classic look, so I decided to give it a chance. Keeping in mind that this is a kids movie, it has heart! Ben Schwartz did a good job being the annoying hedgehog that struggles with being lonely, and Jim Carrey is classic 90's Jim.
