not usually a fan of monster films however this was a fantastic watch and obviously an inspo for every other zombie movie made. (was that a run on sentence)?
still need to watch 28 months later before i get to watch the new one!!

28 Days Later works best in its first two acts. The empty London and the grainy DV film gives it a unique post-9/11 panic that hasn’t aged. But once it shifts to the last act, it loses some of its bite and never fully recovers. I still respect it because it's one of those movies that inspired many zombie movies since then!
I just rewatched this movie, I can't believe its 21 years old, that is mental. I remember watching this as a uni student and I'm now in my early 40s. 😂
At the time I didn't know who Danny Boyle was, who Cillian Murphy was or even Christopher Eccleston or Naomi Harris. Watching back was amazing and their careers have gone from strength to strength.
I barely remembered the plot so it was almost like watching it for the first time although the walking through empty London is almost iconic. I don't know how I forgot the whole thing about the soldiers plans to turn any women to their comfort women 😱
I wonder what is happening to the plans on "28 Months Later" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10548174/?ref_=ext_shr I think they may even consider changing it to 28 years later at this rate!
I think it's going to be amazing if it's Danny Boyle directing and Cillian Murphy starring. I remember the 2nd one with Begbie in not being as good.
