I'm so relieved to have looked through the comments for this episode to find out these texts were changed!! I guess with them being forced to end the season early they decided against continuing Kat and Ava's relationship, which is honestly the best thing to happen in the episode! (Weird that my streaming platform didn't get the edited version of the episode though, I wonder if anything else was different :s)
woah wtf the version i watched had totally different texts!! Eva says "that was fun, but you snuck out? Is this too risky for you?" and Kat replies "it's risky for both of us, but it was really fun" so they definitely intended to continue the relationship at some point! (i'm glad it's actually over though, makes much more sense!)
I feel like I'm not liking what they're doing with Sutton's character. She obviously has very low self-esteem and instead of her working on that and accept that it's not her fault her mom is who she is the show gave her a quick fix-all solution: Richard. It's like she's a completely different person when she's not with him, like she needs him to decide for her who she is. I hope the show will do a better job with her character.
