A great look at the long and messy road to recovery from the end of a major relationship on difficult terms. The friendship between Ted and Marshall, and the idea that there's still a great version of Marshall that can exist apart from Lily, is one of the stronger points of this episode and the series. Few television friendships are as open, honest, and earned as Ted and Marshall's. At the same time, I like how they subvert Robin's expected girliness in expert fashion, and slowly show the cracks in the armor of Ted and Robin's relationship, while simultaneously showing why they'd be attracted to each other. All-in-all, a great kick off to the new season.
