Watched this on the plane having read a very vague synopsis about an old love with a backpacker and revisiting the love he never forgot... Man I didn't expect to be ugly crying at the end of it even though I had a feeling I knew where this was going when Ami made a comment about not knowing how long someone's life is. 🥺 By the time he reached her village I just knew, then the mum asking "Are you Jimmy?!?" and mentioning Ami has said she needed to get better for her young boyfriend waiting in Taiwan 😭❤️‍🩹 and gifting him with her beautiful painted book. OMG it hurts and tears me up just thinking about it. 😢 Devastating, beautiful and it sits with you for ages. I travelled a lot in my teens and early 20's and lived in Mexico, Brazil, and lots of places in the UK and Japan and studied in Spain etc and I made all these friends from my travels but I never really thought about the last time I saw most of them is the last time I will ever actually see them in this life, realistically. This film makes me think and reassess my life priorities. I'd love to just revisit all these places I lived in and the friends but its not easy, the cost, the responsibilities, the time off.. I'm lucky to have experienced it all in the first place. 🙏

I finally got around to watching this film as recommended by a friend.she sent it to mecause she said I look like Ami. Gooossshhh I had a feeling it will be sad but I didn't know it was this saaaad. I'm still crying after watching the movie and writing this review. I was not prepared how it will break me. 😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
