luca guadagnino seems to be a hit or miss for me. not a fan of <i>call me by your name</i>, but I loved his <i>suspiria </i>remake and <i>challengers</i> was my top movie from 2024.
i am always weary of coming-of-age films (rarely my thing) but zombie/cannibal romances have been my jam since the days of post-twilight supernatural smut craze. this... just did not do it, at all. there are lots of great actors in this, and timothée chalamet almost makes this movie good with his performance at crucial points in the film but the protagonist taylor russell (who ive previously watched in the first two <i>escape room </i>movies) just cannot act. it was okay in a shitty gimmick horror, but for a luca guadagnino film? she should've never been hired. myha'la herrold would've been my choice.
but even that probably wouldn't save this adaption. just doesn't work for me. next!

isso aqui tinha tudo pra ser bom mas é so mais um compilado de cenas obvias com drama familiar excessivo (que sai totalmente do foco do genero principal do filme). se fosse uma redação do enem tiraria 0 por fugir do tema (no caso genero pq canibalismo temos).
incrivel como basta colocar um ator e diretor querido de um publico pra dizerem que é incrivel
