Made me appreciate the work that good cops do that goes unaccounted for

8 years since I last saw this whaaaat. It was a little bit better in my memory but I think it's a very good movie. Jake Gyllenhaal is amazing, I like the documentary style of it and it has fun, tense and emotional moments. So whilst I wasn't as captivated as 8 years ago, I still think this is a fun movie and I hope next time around I can bump this back to 4,5 stars.

What elevates the story despite how people feel about cops are the performances by Jake and Michael. I want to be their friends. I first watched this in theaters alone and I had to quietly wipe away a few tears.
