Watched this as some kind of benefit to Sky customers on the Sky VIP app. Lol not sure why this 2 year old unknown film was a benefit but watched it none the less. I just felt sorry for him and his lonely, sad existence and made me think of all the lonely sad old people I've met who are just like him, who never ventured out of there home town in the north of England and have a routine eating the same thing everyday with dull hobbies whether it be meteorology or bird watching or stamp collecting or learning Latin. At least this guy ventured out to the unknown and left his comfort zone and ended up with some dramatic experiences like getting kidnapped, eating "exotic" food with a mesmerising woman etc. I know plenty that didn't leave and just died. What I love about this film though is the portrayal of middle aged women and how they are seeping with sexuality, passion and confidence despite their menopausal years. I aspire to be like the cop with her secret hot toyboy lover when I'm older. Life is for living! It's a bit nuanced and I can see why this would be a snoozefest for 99% of the world's population. I think the target audience is over 45, white British heterosexual and Northern to appreciate it tbh If you're not all of those or a film connoisseur, don't bother.
