oh. this might be one of my top 3 favorite movies of 2023. watched two day before the new year. i truly did not see it coming that i would be this emotionally invested. i had high hopes for it the way i do all his movies - they're all good !! but hitting me THIS hard??? i had no clue how amazing he was at capturing intimacy on screen. the amount of "more is less" intimacy felt in this movie can only be compared to my viewing of "portrait of a lady on fire" which, well, ended in quiet sobbing at the movie theatre. wowowowow i already feel like rewatching this.
