was looking through roger eberts first book in the "greatest movies" series, and ended up reading about this movie. both federico fellini and him wrote about the importance of watching this movie more than once. and even though im not usually a rewatcher, I'm inclined to agree. even during my watch, I kept thinking this would be both easier and even more full of detail on the second viewing. this was the first avant garde movie ive seen that i really liked! i decided to watch this while being struck with an intense wave of anxiety and even though im not a director or even much of a creative i could really see myself in this film. the opening of this film is just extraordinary. the scene with the prostitute on the beach as well.
