Enjoyable enough. It makes sense for humankind to have used alien technology but that also makes this feel more like a Star Wars movie. I didn't like Liam Hemsworth + Joey King jumpscare. I really liked William Fichtner and Jeff Goldblum and gotta love the iconic Emmerich-destruction-of-the-Earth scenes. Still want that third movie!

The characters in this are so meh. For the most part, even the returning actors feel wasted with the exception of Bill Pullman and Brent Spiner. It seems as though most of the characters do absolutely nothing and serve no purpose other than acting as eye candy.

This felt too Star Wars. The OG was so grounded - this feels like a whole new franchise. I also just feel like none of the actors wanted to BE there. Didn't finish it.

I was a fan of the first movie, I am a big fan of Roland Emmerich, however this is a mess, really bad script, and it is a total cash in of a movie, nothing like the original, such a disappointment.
