I was excited because I loved Cloverfield! But this cliche filled movie was just terrible.
Except from saying the word "Cloverfield" a few times, There is nothing "Cloverfield" about this movie.
Many unexplained plot lines... And ugh... Tam...
Everyone on the ship talks English, Tam understands English...
She must, Since they have long conversations and Schmidt doesn't translate it.
Seems like Tam refuses to talk English and speaks Chinese instead!
It annoyed me, because it just didn't make any sense.
Booooof !
Plot hole sur plot hole quoi... Rien qui nous embarque alors que les effets spéciaux sont géniaux et que les acteurs sont plutôt bons. L'histoire aurait pu être tellement mieux réalisée !
This movie feels als if the director watched Interstellar and The Alien in one evening, wrote the script in the night and started filming in the morning. You have elements from both movies, mixed weirdly together to create a hardly mediocre-sci-fi-movie.
BARELY anything gets explained. Why is the energy short? Where do they want to get new energy from? Why tf did they have worms in glasses in there? Why do they show us the husband saving that little girl which has absolutely no relevance for the story? Who builts a ship where you have to undock parts manually BUT have to stand in those?? Where is the sense in that? Also the begin is pretty boring, some moments kinda stretch and them jumping back to bring the half destroyed ship back doesn't make anyone hopeful much either. The as-always-yelling-big-bad-monster at the end just gives you the rest.
I guess this movie is actually just here to show us how the monsters got on the earth, without wanting to explain anything logical. I didn't see any of the other movies, but this prequel is enough to make me not wanna watch more of it.
Best things were Mundy and Schmidt.
