Finally watched it properly after 23 years of catching random scenes on the telly. I decided to finally watch it after bingeing on Julian Fellowes other work, Downton Abbey. This felt like a practice run for Downton with many of the same actors. Infact Magge Smith is basically practising her role of Old Lady Grantham. Ryan Phillipe's career seemed to nosedive after this, I wonder why? The Butler was a bit weak after seeing Mr. Carson in Downton... But overall I enjoyed it despite the tacky Hollywood angle. So many distinguished actors in it, it was great. Although I felt like Stephen Fry was playing a character in a different show like a Laurie & Fry sketch, he was too OTT dumb. I can't believe there is a comment on here complaining the film is "too British" with "hard English accents". 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 What a bell lol and also maybe they were talking about the Scottish accent of Mary..? Not even English mate. And another comment comparing it to One Piece lol Don't get me wrong I love One Piece but just no.
