Great film, shows the full extent of animation format in general. Unique concept with incredible visuals and score, could add some spice of fleshed out characters.

Paprika is a strange strange Anime. the visuals are truly mind-bending to the point that you're left wondering "how can someone come up with this much dreamlike content while being conscious?" every sequence makes you feel like you're on an acid trip that will make sense in the end. there are puzzles left unsolved everywhere in the story and that pretty much sums up the concept that this film is targeting: Man vs. Machine, its unknown capabilities and limitations. I'm pretty certain that I will never find something quite as innovational as this one again. <b>× Best Line: </b>The Internet and dreams are similar. They're areas where the repressed conscious mind escapes.

The whole movie is really a mindfuck, exploratory and thought experiments. How can one even come up with this, you really need a boundless imagination especially if you're making something about dream. The art direction is goddamn beautiful. It's like you're being treated with human ingenuity. Come to think about it, other media that can match this or at least I think is similar is Sonny Boy and that anime is one of my goat. This feels like a successor to Paranoia Agent but more tight and rewarding. Searched it up mid watching and turns out I was right, same director, studio, etc. no wonder. Similar theme, delusion, psychological. Perfect Blue has similar vibe as well. Imagine a movie night consist of Paranoia Agent, Perfect Blue, and end with Paprika, hell nah. Overall, a good watch. 8.5 if I could, but couldn't do decimal. I think if I could make a narrative to make sense of all these, I would make this a 9 but my brain can't handle it.
