first time watch! believe it or not
the only disney princess movie i never watched as a child, for no particular reason other than just not having the dvd. I wish my parents had showed me this because it is quite beautiful and a very good story! i love how aladdin and jasmine get to know each other and spend a oot of time together before kissing/getting married. i love how both the princess and her love interest aladdin are fleshed out characters - even more so than in The Little Mermaid, Mulan or Pocahontas (although they have better male characters than the previous).
I did not like the voice of the monkey, which to me was way too similar to Donald Duck whenever he "spoke". the genie also annoyed me quite a bit. I don't like this type of humor, especially needing to have a humorous side character in Disney movies, wether it is Genie or Olaf or whoever will be next. the movie was funny and stood on its own two feet way before introducing a comedic relief sidekick.
overall a really good experience, and I'll definitely show this to my daughter once she isnt too scared of things like the snake sequence

A classic that I loved and watched many times as a kid. The songs are amazing but I must say that I wasn't as entertained as with other classics. I guess partly due to (even after 10+ years of not watching this) knowing this movie by heart and partly due to the live-action remake that I saw twice since it came out.
Fun fact of the day: My sister was named after Jasmine (different spelling, though), so I'm happy she's my sister Yasmine and not my brother Jafar xD
