Such a chilling story. Very tense and emotional. Amazing performance from Jake Gyllenhaal. Michael Shannon is awesome. Aaron Taylor-Johnson portrays a perfect psychopath. Amy Adams is kinda mid though.
I came for Aaron and now I don't want see Aaron again for a long time.
Jake was being beautiful from start to finish. He's just stunning. How you could ever pick Armie over Jake is hard to believe. And his acting is just absolutely incredible. Undeniably powerful and believable.
Sooo, this whole book was just a revenge plot against Susan? Eh okay. Good movie but I'm not keen on the book just being a way of getting vengeance. It doesn't feel like an appropriate reaction to me. Like women and underaged girls being r*ped should not be ammunition imo. So it makes his "vengeance" feel unjustified, and makes the whole movie fall flat to me. Like you just made all this up to make an ex feel bad at a restaurant? Okay, bro, you're really edgy. Great acting all around, great cinematography - that ending just pissed me off. I'd have preferred he showed up with a glass eye and have a big OH MY GOD *dramatic music* it really happened?!! moment. I think I'm gonna pretend the book wasn't about getting vengeance, but standing her up was.
Also: That jumpscare at Willow's nanny-cam was absolutely unnecessary 😂😭
Assez mitigé après le visionnage de ce film. Déjà, je n’ai pas vraiment été fan de l’idée de faire se superposer plusieurs histoires. Au début, j’arrivais plutôt bien à suivre, mais au fur et à mesure que le film avançait, certains moments devenaient de plus en plus confus. J’aurais, je pense, davantage apprécié que le film ait un véritable plot twist pour donner plus de sens, surtout à cette fin qui me dérange. Bref, il faut quand même noter le jeu d’acteur, surtout de Jake, qui m’a vraiment permis de mettre dedans
I felt physically ill at the opening credits - thought I was going to throw up. Very glad I did not turn it off. Feels like a reverse Tarot card to Enemy (2013).
