I am seeing some reviews here. But for people who did not really read into the detailed true story or books, this was a good movie. A little bit of a cliche here and there, to make things work but a very solid movie. Well directed, not a lot of wasted time and moments rambling. Some predictability, but are we really trying to look for the one best thing?
It works well and the moments are well done. Compared to what passes for scary movies today, this is an excellent movie. Not you gruesome, turn your stomach and make you grimace type but something to work on the thriller horror genre. I feel the thriller part had to be put in as it really makes this a perfect explanation.
For someone who did not read into the history so much, this is an excellent movie and truly recommend that you watch and enjoy. I went in with no expectations and not caring of what it was really about too much though I had an idea and knew somethings were different. I was impressed.
For buffs of history, you may not like this but I suggest you go watch a documentary. It’s so hard to go page for page on true life without sleeping from minute one. A documentary works well for this and is wonderful. However, for the rest of you, go enjoy a movie, relax and don’t worry about horror or stuff. Just watch it. It’s more of a thriller so you may jump here and there but this will not scare some adults. It will give kids nightmares. So if yo have kids be mindful as I think it is a true horror genre for them.
