In 1952, when the settlement was built in the far north of Munich, people from many different nations moved in: Latvians, Russians, Armenians, Poles, Ukrainians, Kalmyks, Sudeten Germans – all so-called displaced persons, people with no chance of returning to their homeland or emigrating after the war.
