[English + French] 🇺🇸🇬🇧 Moon (2009) By Duncan Jones. Visually, the movie is stunning. It imagines a near future with technology that feels credible and realistic. A lunar mission in such a near future could really look like this. The relationship between Sam and GERTY works really well. Even though it’s a robot, GERTY shows a form of empathy and attachment (probably simulated i guess), which makes it surprisingly touching, especially with the smiley faces. We quickly get attached to Sam, who is nearing the end of his mission and only wants to go back home to see his wife and daughter. We move between his daily routine and the new questions raised by the plot, which we discover at the same time as he does. Sam Rockwell gives an excellent performance, showing a wide range of emotions that he manages to convey accurately. A small regret: there's noise in space when there should be silence. That could have added a more immersive dimension to the film. 🇫🇷 Moon (2009) Par Duncan Jones. Visuellement, le film est superbe. Il imagine un futur proche avec une technologie qui reste crédible et réaliste, une mission lunaire dans un futur si proche pourrait vraiment ressembler à ça. La relation entre Sam et GERTY fonctionne très bien. Même si c'est un robot, il montre une forme d'empathie et d'attachement (probablement simulée je pense), ce qui le rend étonnamment touchant surtout avec les smiley. On s’attache vite à Sam, qui arrive au bout de sa mission et ne pense qu’à rentrer chez lui pour revoir sa femme et sa fille. On oscille entre son quotidien et les nouvelles interrogations soulevées par l’intrigue, que l’on découvre en même temps que lui. Sam Rockwell livre une excellente prestation, en passant par une large palette d’émotions qu’il parvient à transmettre avec justesse. Petit regret : il y a du bruit dans l’espace alors qu’il devrait y avoir du silence. Ça aurait pu ajouter une dimension plus immersive au film.
