it's an okay children's christmas movie, probably would be even better of you like Home Alone-style slapstick violence. saw this in the cinema with my daughter (3), it was her very first cinema experience. she was able to mostly sit still and watch and not talk too loudly, but she was clearly bored out of her mind when the humans took up too much screen time. I asked her afterwards and she said she loved the movie and particularly the mice, and wanted to watch it again tomorrow.
we'll wait for streaming before rewatching
i'm glad this doesn't feature santa, since that's a saturated market, but I wish they would've kept more references to the source material. it's inspired by the song, sure, but doesn't keep many aspects of it. they could've at least had a mouse grandma on a potato rocking chair, come on!
