This season so far hasn't been as strong as season 1. The Vince Staples Show is pretty much the successor to Atlanta. I have no idea what the show will be episode to episode, and I love the unpredictability of that. It's made better when you are in the hands of a creative that delivers every time. The people behind Atlanta did, and this show did in season 1 even though it was rough. The jokes have not been as strong this season though which has been holding it back. That's not true of this episode. This was the strangest, most creative, and funniest episode yet. A Black social club with an all-white staff would make me paranoid as fuck. Nothing seemed right there, and I, like Vince, couldn't make sense of any of it. It felt like a trap. Every interaction was hilarious, and the white staff's weird emphasis on uplifting black language and even the word "black" was as funny as it was weird. It looks like this will be a 2-parter which feels like a first for this show. I wasn't expecting to be this curious about how deep this rabbit hole will go.
