Somehow Hollywood writers can take a superhero series and make it about their own industry.
There's a shocker!
The main character wasn't very likable and they really worked hard to make his scenes as awkward as possible. I get what they were after, but it just never landed for me. It all felt a bit pretentious and wasn't very interesting.
Ben Kingsley is always excellent and the Mandarin was nice touch for the Marvel Universe, but they should have left it at that and moved on instead of using it as an excuse to have a Hollywood circle jerk.
how great was this show? i was already 3 episodes in by the time i noticed the marvel clip at the start, i didn't even realize it was a superhero show, i knew nothing going in and i was very pleasantly surprised. great show, like the first Luke Cage season, or Hancock, or Unbreakable.. very human and not at all over the top
