Dimitrij Plichta was a Czech-born Slovak film director, screenwriter, and writer, recognized for his contributions to Czechoslovak cinema. He studied at a gymnasium and conservatory in Brno, and after World War II, pursued aesthetics at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague.
