The circle of life. A thought provoking film about the beauty of life, all of the sorrow and bliss one has to go through in their lifetime. The film has innumerable amounts of themes that anyone could easily connect to whether it maybe about reincarnation or a culture that is flawed to it's core. It certainly holds a special place in Japanese cinema and will be revered for ages because no matter how many medieval masterpieces the Japanese have made throughout the years, none of which have been able to deconstruct or critic the culture from a female viewpoint and specifically a princess'. It absolutely succeeds in that as it portrays the princess' perspective as a true outsider to that world like the viewer. Not to mention, it's art that is literal art. Those line drawings surely take you to a whole another world of beauty. Score is on point, it's always joy to hear Japanese medieval themed music. Voice actors did an amazing job in showcasing the essential emotions and growth of the characters.

"She'll remain the jewel no one can acquire." Although the story wasn't suuuper interesting to me, the animation was gorgeous. Every frame belongs in a museum.  Tbf, if Chris Evans said if I could find something impossible then I could marry him, I'd probably kill myself trying to get it too.  The city of the moon looks fun, though.

Sad. Simple. Powerful. 🥺 I’m just thankful that they were kind enough to ease our pain with this character, she was a mood throughout the whole movie. 🙂
