Miss Wonton begins with the arrival of a young Chinese immigrant, Ah Na (Amy Ting), to her new place of work, the Buddha's Happiness in New York. At Buddha's Happiness, she meets other immigrant workers and hears their idiosyncratic dreams of the future.
