I really could not stand the wife's voice in this. Just was grating to me. I never thought I'd see a movie where the coffee table is the main antagonist but here we are.
I don't think I've ever experienced such anxiety watching a movie, jeez!!! 91 minutes of pure harrowing experience. It's a type of movie to watch once in a lifetime. Very good script idea, by the way. Could it be better executed? Absolutely! but it did well what it was intended to do.
Despite all the shock caused, it was a reflective and draining experience about human behavior in a plausible situation that could happen to anyone. It's also intentionally funny in a strange way. I loved it.
The Coffee Table is a mix of THAT one thing in Hereditary + The Office episode which Michael Scott promised to give money to the children's tuition
