I love my disaster movies, great soundtrack and fun comic relief from Peter Stormare and Steve Buscemi. Also love the emotional moments! Written by J.J. Abrams (amongst others)!
Director Series
Day 16: Michael Bay (2/3)
Such an amazing cast. Pretty great effects for the 90s. This is why Michael Bay is the king of action blockbusters.
Amazing plot and Bruce Willis was as always great, also loved Lev. Sadly I think the movie didn't old too well - sexism, dumb and hollow characters and no break to breath through all the action scenes. Some more quiet moments inbetween would have helped, I mean the action scenes are amazing! But it's just overwhelming. And oh my god, it reaks of america patriotism. I get it.
Could have cut a good 45 minutes from the begin, didn't need a long introduction of the characters and best part was on the comet anyway. Also the end decision was stupid, why would you let the youngest stay to start the bomb? I think everyone is mad that the best character stayed and died while the sexist old asshole with his stupid jokes came back to earth 🤨 It's a shame because I liked many scenes from the movie. Would have become better if Michael Bay wouldn't have done it.
I guess it's worth a watch if you like Bruce Willis and want to catch up with classics but one time is definitely enough.
