Hard for me to take it seriously when they force the protagonists to be complete and utter idiotic, oblivious cowards to elicit the reaction they want. I get the message, but it’s too unrealistic and emotionally manipulative for me - and the twist isn’t a twist - the audience is simply waiting for the imbecile protagonists to see what’s right in front of them.

I found the situations the family was in very unsettling. That being said, they fell into the typical horror movie trope where they made some pretty dumb decisions. But overall, it was pretty good and the score also really made an impact.

Exactly for what reason should someone torture kids like that in their fucking movie?
