Looking at Agneta reminded me of my mother's generation of women and those before hers, where women molded themselves to a man's likes and dislikes, later to those of their children, always worrying first about "what the neighbours will say" and not about what she wanted or what would be best for the children. The neighbours always won. It was wonderful seeing Agneta break away from what everyone else wanted from her and discovering herself as a woman and as a person, something that my mother's generation of women and those before them never really got to do.
