Considering the initial low expectations I had for a sequel to a classic, I thought it was pretty good. I like how it connects to the original movie and the action is really good. From the first half of the movie, I thought it just wanted to be a popcorn movie but the second half dragged on for me at times and I felt like it was trying too hard to be something deeper, if that makes sense. I loved Fred Hechinger in 'White Lotus' but his character here annoys me, just like Matt Lucas's character. All in all, I quite enjoyed it but there were also moments I didn't care for and I can imagine I'll give it a lower rating in the future when I rewatch it at home.

A little cliche at times and perhaps unrealistic or too close to the original movie, but as its own work, I found this movie to be great. I loved the action. I loved the story. As someone who didn’t grow up on the first <i>Gladiator</i>, I thoroughly enjoyed this.

A decent action movie, visually stunning as you would expect from something with a $250m budget. The story however is rather lacklustre and while I'm a massive fan of Paul Mescal, this is probably one of his least compelling roles. One particular gripe with Mescal's performance is that despite watching both his wife and mother die in front of him, not a single tear is shed. When you wind back the years to the original, watching Maximus discover his wife hanging, he looks absolutely distraught. You don't really feel that with this one.

Visually appealing, but the story is not strong enough...

Fun popcorn flick with the Gladiator title on it. Denzel was nuts but nobody else brought that energy to the table. Some of the CGI was bad but some of the shots were gorgeous. Pretty inconsistent movie throughout.

Ridley so phoned it in on this one…

Honestly thought it would be worse than the first but didn't really expect it to be this bad.

I hate the monkeys, sharks and rino....bad 👎 bad. The rest it's OK.
