This is one of the greatest achievements of visual storytelling. With very little exposition through dialogue, the cinematography does wonders which in turn also gives it a Western aesthetic as it builds tension through silence as time goes by. Also the very little dialogue there is, gives the film a dark comedic pinch as it is inevitable to avoid awkward situations when it's filled with realism but it also doesn't break the seriousness of it at the same time. The cast does contribute a lot to the film, especially Javier Bardem who's a force to be reckoned with even without any expressions, just the body language alone adds weight to the character. The makeup and hairstyling is phenomenal on him. To turn a handsome man into psychopathic lunatic isn't an easy job. And so the film is, from a cinematic perspective, a masterpiece but having very little to no meaning to the narrative doesn't help or maybe it's just me. And it also seems like it doesn't know when to end which is surprising because the editing has been one of it's major contributors of tension.

This movie is underrated AF(on trakt.tv) even though it's one of the best movies of this Millennium with it's great acting, breathtaking story-line and the amazing directing. 10/10 in my opinion.
