By chance, Pyrus has found Gyldengrød's old laboratory, which has been locked up for many years. When the National Archivist's son-in-law Krusø catches a severe winter cold, Pyrus is eager to help and tries to cure Krusø with an elixir from Gyldengrød's laboratory. The effect is disastrous.
