Even though Everybody Knows isn't produced in Farhardi's motherland, it has his fingerprints all over it. What it lacks is his usual magic that would've added a layer to the story. You witness his trademark plot twists but the movie doesn't have a soul. It can be due to the fact that spanish is not Farhadi's first or even second language and directing a movie in a language that's foreign to you is a difficult task. to add to that, we were watching the movie with a spanish guy who claimed that the movie is too melodramatic if you know the language and that culture it belongs to.
The structure of the movie and its plot are basically unflawed but it requires more peculiar moments like Paco's face at the end of the film when it's a mixture of failure and salvation, to be a true Farhadi powerhouse.
× Best Line: You're getting too involved.
Es un drama de peluquería hecho película. Además de los hombres peleando por ver quién la tiene más grande y las mujeres mirando, lo que me ha dejado loco es que sale Bardem sonriendo.
El final regulero.
