[4.5/10] This was on my watchlist for such a long time. I’ve had a soft spot for the story since the first time I ever heard it. But honestly, I didn’t love this adaptation. I always try to adjust my perspective with vintage films, understanding how groundbreaking many were at the time, and I can appreciate the strong performance and creative cinematography here. The visual effects during the transformation scenes were particularly impressive for the time. But in the end, I thought the movie just felt much longer than it actually was, which was not a great thing in this case, lol. Just a little tiresome for me.
There were moments I enjoyed, but I wouldn’t revisit it, nor would I recommend it to most people. Probably only lovers of old film. That said, I’m glad I finally watched it. I would like to explore other adaptations!
Also, I must say I really HATE the original pronunciation of Jekyll. :rofl:
