Kubo and the Two Strings is a beautiful piece of art. A joy to our eyes. It gave me more wow effect when I learned that it is a blend of stop-motion and CGI animation. Well done. Kubo's story is probably a classic one. A hero's journey story. But I don't have any problem with that. I love epic stories. And Kubo, with its traditional Japanese folklore, its origami magic, its quest for powerful artefacts, its battles, bring the story nicely. But oh I wish for more. I wish that those sidekick characters were more developed. So they grow more and have a nice balance with whom they really are in the end. I feel that their presence along the journey is not strong enough. I wish that the ending is a little longer and meaningful. The ancient artefacts should be shown to have a power like their legend, and the Moon King should be shown as a more powerful being than just turning into a giant worm. So the last strike that Kubo do will have more effect to our impression. Will those make Kubo a better movie? I don't know. With their details and story, Zootopia and Finding Dory have their own quality, and both are fulfilling. Kubo and the Two Strings also has its own quality, and it's worth seeing.

I saw it opening day to show my support. It's got a heart-felt story, and the stop-animation techniques are outstanding! I'm glad people are starting to recognize the art form. I'm definitely picking up the Blu-ray once it's out as this one is my favorite from **LAIKA**. I <3 it with all my heart! Interesting tidbit: I recently learned that some of the people that worked on Gumby also worked on Kubo.

O que dizer dessa obra de arte? É a segunda vez que a vejo e como da primeira vez me surpreendeu, pois não lembrava o quão boa era a história!! A animação é surreal de linda e fluida, sem dúvidas um dos melhores filmes de stop motion que existe. Não tenho nada a criticar, realmente é um ótimo filme que merecia mais reconhecimento!!!! 💗
