😭

Not to say this is a bad film at all, but maybe I just watched it at the wrong time in the wrong place for it to fully connect with me. I didn't find myself all too interested in the "story" and seeing Bill Murray interacting with an 18 year old ScarJo just made me a little uncomfortable. I fear if this wasn't set in Japan I would have cared even less.

Scarlett Johansson and a pink bob just makes SENSE.  Coulda done without the racist comments. Honestly, I found this kinda boring. Neither of them were interesting enough. Neither of their issues were very compelling. Also, finding out Scarjo was 17 when this was filmed is kinda icky.

I have been in these fucking five-star hotels, these almost-moments in lifts, embodied this emptiness, this feeling that if only we were slightly different, slightly braver, slightly better - then we could but we don’t. A lifetime of wasted moments, squandered chances, memories that are too painful to remember much less write. This film was a lot less sad when I was younger and it was all a fantasy, when it was all future. Now I’m going to Park Hyatt Tokyo because there’s nothing else left for me to do.

I really disliked it and found it a bit racist how they portrayed the Japanese in this movie and they did a poor job showcasing Tokyo's vibrance and color, especially when the city is like the 3rd character in the movie. A slow and boring movie for a place with such high-pace and energy like Tokyo... i don't know... it just doesn't fell right.

This movie reminded me of all the trips I took while I was in college. While I was abroad I didn't really care about my life back in my city and was freer. The neon lighting of Tokio gave the movie a cyberpunkish feeling. I could relate to everything the characters were doing in the movie.

Just a beautiful movie, perfect casting, fantastic script and beautifully shot.......perfect!
